12 killed, eight injured as tractor laden with illegally mined sand rams SUV in MP’s Morena

Morena, Jun 21, 2018 : At least 12 people were killed and eight injured when a tractor allegedly laden with illegally mined sand rammed into a Bolero SUV in Morena district on Thursday morning.

 

The tractor was on its way to Ambah town in the same district when the accident occurred at Ganj Rampur village.

The identities of the deceased, most of whom belonged to a family in Gwalior, were yet to be disclosed. The tractor driver also suffered injuries in the accident.

Morena superintendent of police Amit Sanghvi said they were still in the process of retrieving all the bodies from the crushed jeep. “The death toll may go up. We are trying to identify the owner of the tractor,” he added.

The Bolero was a taxi plying between Morena and Gwalior.
