56th show of Matharo Chorbela staged in Israel

Israel, May 10: The 56th show of Francis Fernandes Cascia’s first Konkani comedy, “Matharo Chorbela,” was presented by Konkan Catholic Sangatan (KCS) in Israel at Beit Babur Hall in Tel Aviv on May 7, Friday at 7:00 p.m.


Francis Fernandes Cascia is known as the “comedy king” and is the winner of the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award. The drama has been directed by Joy Paladka of Mumbai.


Cascia’s superhit play “Matharo Chorbela” has been staged in Kuwait, Doha, Dubai, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, Pune, Bangalore, Mysore, Sirsi, Chickmagalur, Honnavar, and other parts of Mangalore and Udupi. KCS staged it for the first time in Israel.


Praveen Lobo of Omzoor welcomed the guests. Fr. Arthro of St Anthony Church at Yaffo Tel Aviv was the chief guest of the occasion. KCS felicitated Francis Fernandes Cascia and Joy Paladka.


Melwyn Furtado, the president of KCS; and Benna Kulshekar, the president of the Indian Committee of Israel were also felicitated. Roshan Monteiro Omzoor compered the programme, and Secretary Vinitha D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks.
