Lavina and Orson in the finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore-3

Kuwait, Sep 23, 2012: Orson D’Souza and Lavina D’Souza have qualified for the finals of the third season of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore at the semi finals held at the American International School on September 21, Friday.

John Paul Fernandes, Kuwait-based entrepreneur, and Walter Nandalike, chief of Daijiworld, inaugurated the event with members of the organizing committee Wilson Saldanha, Louis Rodrigues, and Rita Rodrigues.

The judges were Babita D’Sa, Adrian Gomes, and Ivan Sequeira.

After the semi finals, the semi-finalists Cynthia Mable Pinto, Renita Raina D’Mello, Renuka Cutinha, Lolita Monteiro, Marina Samson Veigas, Jossy D’Cunha, Orson Albert D’Souza, Rilson D’Souza, Royston Joseph D’Almeida, and others were honored with mementos.

The audition judges were also felicitated on the occasions and each sponsor of the event was presented mementos.

Visiting artists Babita and Ivan and local singers Gladys Lorena and Joylene Gonsalves presented some beautiful numbers such as Virndavananth, Ami Poinari, Konknecho Mogh Kar, and others.

Daijiworld founder Walter Nandalike was honored with mementos and bouquets for supporting GVOM since 2008. Mr. Nandalike then felicitated the judges while Wilson Saldanha felicitated the musicians, who had accompanied the singers.

Rita Rodrigues felicitated Gladys Lorena, Steevan Misquith, Desi Strikers, and others for their contributions to this event.

Lavina D’Souza and Orson D’Souza were then declared as the winners of the semi finals. They were dressed with sashes and presented bouquets and trophies by Lawrence Pinto, Walter Nandalike, and Louis Rodrigues. They will now take part in the finals, which will be held on Oct 19 in Doha – Qatar.

The final winners will receive cash prizes of Rs. 1 lakh each.
