Farookians in Kuwait organized - Fostalgia 2012

Kuwait,  April 05,  2012: Farookians in Kuwait got a chance to rekindle the nostalgic mummeries of their college days on Friday, the 30th March at Chevron Recreation Hall. The full day colorful event was sponsored by Al Ahli United Bank and Al Sayer group, Kuwait.

The Alumnus from 1960’s to 2010 batches were present at the event all of them enjoyed the event.

 The program started with versus from Quran by Rafiya Basheer batha followed by a welcome speech by the General Secretary Mr. Mohammed Rafi. He also gave a brief description of the activities organized by Kuwait unit. The notables ones were the initiative by the unit to build and handover the outdoor sports Pavilion for the college with the help of a Kuwaiti sponsor. The unit also provides monthly scholarships and educational support to the 20 deserving students of the college besides sponsoring scholarships to various post graduate students.

The unit also actively participated in the inaugural ceremony of the outdoor pavilion and also Fostalgia meets organized by the central committee, and Internal meet organized by Qatar and Dubai Unit during the past five years.

 A Panel for the new committee was presented by the president Haneef Mohammed after his presidential address which was approved in the General Body meeting.

Advocate Razak Payyoli, secretary organizing proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Riyaz Ahmed, Program Convener organized many games, Quiz programs and entertainments for the participants.

 Gifts to the winners were distributed by Haneef Mohammed, Mohammed Rafi, Raoof Mashhoor and Abdulla Kollarath. The event ended by 4.30. The organizers had arranged transportation from Salmiya, Farwaniya, and Fahaheel besides arranging Breakfast, Lunch and refreshments. The event was ably coordinated by Riyaz Ahmed, TV Mohammed, C.E.V Imthiaz, M.M. Zubair, Hijaz Kalthingal, Moideen Kunhi, KV Gafoor and Ramees.
