KSQ gives away prizes to winners of Children Talent Search 2011

Doha, Jun 20 : Prizes were distributed among the winners of the Children Talent Search 2011, which was recently organized by Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), on June 17, Friday.

The event comprised seven cultural events and three indoor sports events in several categories and was held on June 10. Contests related to drawing, singing, dancing, elocution competitions, written quiz and others were held at Skills Development Centre from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.



The prize distribution ceremony commenced at 4:30 p.m., and around 40 of them participated in games such as table tennis, carom, chess, and others.

President V. S. Mannangi welcomed the gathering and thanked all the parents for encouraging their children to participate in the event. The winners of the dance and singing contests gave a special performance once again at the award ceremony.


The KSQ web site www.karntakasanghaqatar.com was also launched on the occasion. Mahesh Gowda, the creator of the website, spoke on the various features of the website. KSQ also donated to cheque to ICBF on the occasion. The highlight of the event was a talking doll and shadow show by award winning illusionist Prahlad Acharya.

The KSQ volleyball team was felicitated for its excellent performance at a recently held volleyball tournament. The team members were presented certificates, gif vouchers, and trophies. All the participants of the talent search were also given gifts and certificates.


Arvind Patil, the former president and chairman of ISD; Prabhakar, the ex president; Ramachandra Shetty, the president of Tulu Koota Qatar; Ravi Shetty, the president of Bunts Qatar; Divakar Poojary, the general secretary of ICBF; Saquib Raza Khan, the president of KMCA; Prakash Chandra Ajila, the vice president of Bunts Qatar; and social worker Iqbal Manna were also present at the event.
