Ruchika Kalra crowned ISCC Fashion Show 2011 Queen

Abu Dhabi: Ruchika Kalra was crowned the Fashion Show Queen at the Abu Dhabi Annual Fashion Show 2011 organized by the India Social and Cultural Centre (ISCC) at its premises on June 10, Friday. The runners up were Aparna Satyadas and Leann Vas. The winner and the runners up were honored on the occasion.

The event brought to the limelight a large number of Indian ladies in the age group of 18 – 35, and the criteria of intelligence, poise, and beauty were taken in consideration while judging them.

Abdul Salam, the honorary general secretary of ISCC, delivered the welcome address, after which President Ramesh Panicker delivered the presidential address. Mithun Ramesh, the radio jockey of Radio 96.7 Dubai, compered the show.

Ajay Ashok choreographed and directed the fashion show, in which 17 graceful contestants participated. The first round of the show required participants to illustrate the beautiful traditional costumes of India. The second show required them to display western attire. Eight of the 17 were selected for the third round. During the final round, each contestant was asked 2 questions each and the top three contestants were chosen to receive the prizes.

While Ruchika Kalra was crowned Fashion Show 2011 Queen. The first runner up was Aparna Satyadas and the second runner up was Leann Vas, who was also given the title of Lady with a Beautiful Smile. Harmind Josh won the Lady with a Beautiful Costume title. The winners received cash and gift hampers.

The judges were Aruna Tulusimohanana, Richard D’Souza, Mini Sharma, and Farzana Praveen. The chief sponsors were NMC Group and UAE Exchange. Vice President John Varghese proposed the vote of thanks.
