Madonna University confers honorary doctorate on Dr. Kaup Mohammed

London, May 18: The Madonna University has conferred a honorary doctorate in business administration on Dr. Kaup Mohammed, the dean and director of the London American City College, at its 64th Commencement Exercises held at the Compuware Arena Auditorium in Plymouth in Michigan in USA. Dr. Mohammed hails from Kaup in Udupi.

More than 6000 people attended the Commencement Exercises 2011. Dr. Mohammed’s wife Mrs. Aasheen Kaup and his two daughters Manal and Misbee were also present. The board of trustees of Madonna University; Madonna University President Dr. Sr. Rosie Marie; Vice President and Provost Dr. Ernest Nolan; Dean Dr. Stuart Arends; all the other vice presidents, faculty members, deans, staff members, and others, congratulated Dr. Mohammed on his achievement.


Dr. Kaup, a research scientist, academician, and educator, received Madonna University’s Distinguished Leadership Award, which was conferred on him in appreciation of his outstanding leadership in the field of higher education. Dr. Kaup has been providing international education to Indian and Middle Eastern students in Madonna University for the past several years.


He played an important role in the development of e-learning facilities, academic portfolios, and files on alumnae activities in collaboration with the Madonna University. Besides, he is an adjunct professor, a career-guidance and academic counselor, and an advisor of students pursuing graduate programs at Madonna University. He conducts seminars for the online students of Madonna University and assists the university’s graduates to get placed in industries.


Dr. Kaup Mohammed is the only person in the Beary community who holds 2 PhDs from NAAC accredited universities in India and 3 international doctorates in business administration and letters from the US and a post graduate degree from the UK.


He has published a number of scholarly research articles and a thesis in strategic management. He has visited a number of countries such as UK, USA, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, France, India, and Germany to deliver lecturers.


He is the winner of several national and international awards. Currently, he is researching business strategies, operations and production management, quality management, consumer protection law, creative problem solving – a total systems approach, organization behavior, decision making, human resource management, marketing, business project management, strategies for success, and others. His paper titled “Customer Relationship Management that Aids in Customer Centric Processes” was published in a journal called “Observer of Management Education.”


As the honorary general secretary of the Bearys Cultural Forum, he is devoted to the development of the poor people in Karnataka and is involved in granting educational scholarships to the academically good poor students and counsels them on how to take up an educational career.
