Mangalorean film maker Malani’s Film Festival Rocks in UAE

Dubai, March 12: Mangalorean Film Maker Sundeep Malani organised a short-film festival at the Indian Namaste Restaurant outlet in Dubai. People who love this format of films were happy to get an opportunity to see these interesting films.

Sundeep Malani directorial films - Jo Jo Laali, Shaayad, Hum Tum Aur Loan, Moments, SMS 6260, Woh 5 Din and his co-directed Miss California were screened as a part of Malani Film Festival to a large number of audience (mainly Mangaloreans from the Tulu Koota, Kannada Sangha and Konkani Association) at the Indian Namaste Restaurant outlet at the star Excelsior Hotel in Dubai.


"The idea was to reach out to the common man," said Sundeep. We spotted Sanjay Suri, who’s known for making films that are hatke.


The event started with two short films Moments and Hum Tum Aur Loan and continued to screen Miss California and SMS 6260 both starring the Kannada heartthrob Diganth with Janu.


With a break for Ghazal songs by local artists, the screening continued with the Premiere of Bollywood film Woh 5 Din, that was screened for the first time. The main attraction was of course the award winning Kalpana Pandit’s Jo Jo Laali, that created a buzz and awareness everywhere.


The finale of the screening was the bold film, Shaayad!. To wind up the successful event, there was dance on the floor, followed by dine and wine.
