London to Host World Kannada Convention Europe – 2011

London London, Mar 4: ‘Sangama’, an organization of NRI Kannadigas who were inspired by the Vishwa Kannada Samelan that is scheduled to be held in Belgaum in Karnataka from Friday March 11 to Saturday March 12, have planned to organize the first World Kannada Convention here on Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28. This was conveyed by the organizers Kumar Kuntikanamata, Sampat Yadavad, Sharat Kolar, and Ramachandra Iyer.

 
They said that the ‘World Kannada Convention Europe– 2011’ is being organized with the view of introducing Kannada and its distinct culture across Europe and the world, as well as to improve diplomatic and business relations of European Union countries with Karnataka.
 

Kannada litterateurs, artistes, progressive farmers, scientists, doctors, technocrats, sandalwood stars, entrepreneurs, religious leaders, athletes, Kannadiga global achievers and NRI Kannadigas residing across the globe will participate in the convention.

 
Seminars:
 
Seminars on Kannada literature, enterprise, music, medicine, mimicry, and several other programmes are being planned for the convention.
 

The convention will provide a stage for Kannadiga dignitaries to visit the tourism spots in UK and also view the political set up of the nation, besides utilizing the resources of Kannadigas settled in UK for the progress of Karnataka.
