Doha, 23 December 2010: Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Qatar ushered in the spirit of Christmas with the Children’s Christmas party that was organized on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Skills Development Center, Qatar.  And in a place where not many Christmassy activities happen, this children’s celebration was like a breath of fresh air.

Sixty Five children of the club, in the age groups of 0 to sixteen years, attended the party and shared in the joy, celebration and gifts from Santa Claus. The program began with an opening prayer by Astra Pinto. President Richard DSouza welcomed the children, all dressed in red and green. Dorothy Noronha delivered the Christmas message.


In addition to interesting games and spot prizes, coloring and essay writing activities were held. The highlight of the evening was the appearance of Santa Claus, who danced and sang with the children. Two groups of children  led by Elreena Pinto and Richa Alvares  sang Christmas carols and ushered in the spirit of Christmas. The evening was emceed by Sana Britto who did a splendid job.


Goodies and a Christmas souvenir were distributed to all the children. MCC would like to thank the volunteers and sponsors who were instrumental in bringing in the Christmas cheer and putting a smile on the faces of the little children.
