Abu Dhabi, November 16: Mario Menezes and his troupe presented their 25th tiatr production of Menezes Theatre, ‘Futtleli Boxi’ at Abu Dhabi Folklore and Theatre Society, next to Zyed University November 12, 2010  The same show was staged in Dubai on the 11th November, 2010 at Al Nasr Leisureland, Nashwan Hall, 8.30.

‘Futtleli Boxi’ is a play on family values. Love, unity and sincerity in the family are of utmost importance. When a family is united, nothing can break its bonds. A presentation from Menezes Theatre, this is the 25th play written and directed by Mario Menezes and is an entertainer with a strong message.


All the Konkani speaking community and the Goans residing at the gulf countries enjoyed the stage performance for over three hours with entertainment filled with laughter, tears and cheers.


Mario Menezes, one of the eminent script writer, actor and director of the Konkani stage whose work in the world of tiatr transcends traditional values to contemporary Goa. Futtlei Boxi in simple English means ‘Broken plate’ is the 25th tiatr, the silver feather to the hat of this applauded tragedy king in tiatr scripting and production.


It was a show of entertainment to captivate the Tiatr lovers of Abu Dhabi stuffed with passionate dialogues, tragedy and ace performance by the sparkling heroines of the current Konkani stage Rosy Alvares and Jessica along with Baby Rioma, Mario de Vasco, Richard and Mario Menezes, illuminated with electrifying songs by Goa’s top stage singers Francis de Tuem, Marcus Vaz, Tony de Ribandar and Lawry Travassos with the hilarious comedy of Ben Evangelisto and the exhilarating Joanna. Agust de Panchwadi and Framton will keep up to the beat of Goa’s traditional tiatr music.
 

This was the fifth show organized by Abu Dhabi Goans in their own emirate – Abu Dhabi.
