Canada: Mangaloreans celebrate Monthi Fest

Calgary, September 7: Christian Community of Mangalore and Goa has celebrated Monthi fest at St. Thomas More Parish 15, Templebow St. NE, Calgary, AB , Canada on September 4th, 2010 at 3.45 pm.

 

 

 

 

The function is being celebrated second time by the people of  Mangalore and Goa. The day long function was celebrated under the guidance and leadership of Mangalorean Carmalite Priests, Fr. John Pinto OCD and Fr. Gabriel.

In his speech, Fr. Malcolm D’Souza the Pastor of St. Marks parish has described the importance of the Monthi fest. He explained that the Mangaloreans here celebrate the feast in a unique way, where they pay respect to Mother Mary as Mother of creator of all life.

On the occasion, a competition was held for Kids under the leadership of Riana and Priya, followed by prize distribution ceremony.
