Doha: TKQ holds ‘Tulu Jaathre’ cultural event

Doha, Nov 04 2019: Tulu Koota Qatar (TKQ) held ‘Tulu Jaathre’, an indigenous cultural event with traditional food and fun from the region of Tulunadu at Doha at Old India Ideal School, ground on October 25.

Advance Technical Services (ATS) was the main sponsor of the event. The celebration was a showcase for Indigenous identity, strength, and diversity which Tulunadu has been a symbol. As people from all walks of life came and participated and the array had filled the ambience with vibrant energy and zeal to reckon with. The participation for people was not only Karnataka and India but also from various countries people walked in to enjoy the event.

The event success was measured even before event had started as people had flocked in large numbers. The crowd number remained almost similar till the end.

The programme started with traditional lighting the lamp by the MC committee members and the advisory. The master of ceremony Naveen Shetty gave a brief about the program and the intention behind the same. The president, Chaitali Shetty, further presided over the event and welcomed everyone and assured them for a fun filled event.

All community leader and volunteers came together and contributed in different and important ways to bringing the elements of performance, traditional games, food and culture together for the celebration.

The décor and the feel transported people back to the hometown and reminded them of the childhood memories of such event. The sumptuous home cooked food made them come back to the stalls to look for more to satisfy the taste buds. The event was successful in bringing people creatively together and create a sense of connectivity. The landscape of entertainment where the highlight was the traditional tiger dance resonated with the memories from India and filled their heart with gratitude and happiness.

TKQ has been conscious and contributing towards the sustaining environment. And continuing the tradition, TKQ initiated with this event ’no plastic use’ and it was successfully executed.

Special attractions were Goodu Angadi with the very famous Charmuri stall, competitions in Mad Ads, Mono acting and a lots of fun games with instant prizes were given out. Taraikatta and Koridakatta the traditional games from Tulunadu along with many more games were conducted which involved all generations and the kids. The support sponsors for the event were Asmat Ali and Kairalie. One of the highlight was the raffle ticket prizes and that was sponsored by Deepak Shetty, Prakash Shetty, Navneeth Shetty and Abdullah Monu.
