Udupi Vicar Rev. Fr. Baptist Menezes visits Dubai

Dubai, July 31: Rev. Fr. Baptist Menezes, Episcopal Vicar of Udupi Vicariate has met the members of various organizations at Dubai recently. A reception function organized by the St. Anne Kutam Thottam( SAKATH) has succeeded to assemble the eminent personalities of UAE at the residence of Mr. Alfred D’Souza, one of the founder members and Proprietor of CAB Real Estate LLC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Following the celebration of Holy Eucharist, SAKATH President, Mr. William Rodrigues welcomed Rev. Fr. Baptist Menezes with a floral bouquet. Baby Candice D Souza welcomed Episcopal through her wonderul welcome song. This was followed by presentation of floral bouquets by other Associations’ Presidents with a brief introduction of their own associations.
 
 
Mr. William Rodrigues, in his welcome address, highlighted the common goals of these associations; of uniting one’s own Parishioners who are spread over the seven Emirates, in the name of their respective Parish Patrons, caring and sharing each others’ concerns, extending a helping hand to those in need in the UAE and back in their own Parishes, support for the higher education, etc… He also wished the Episcopal good health and success in his mission in the Udupi Vicariate and, though having a hectic schedule, a pleasant stay in Dubai.
 
 
On behalf of SAKATH, a memento was presented to the Episcopal by Mr. Clifford D’Souza, another founder member of the SAKATH and brainchild for forming SAKATH.
 

In his speech, Fr. Baptist expressed his joy and happiness for the unity, cooperation and commitments by the various associations and invoked Almighty’s blessings upon them for the commendable work they are doing. He pointed out that he knows the hardships people are facing and cautioned on giving donations to any entity. He advised that one has the right to know how the donations are disbursed by the recipient. When funds are sent to the Parishes, he informed the audience, a copy of the advice be sent to him for reference. He offered help in the event of any problems.
 

Mr William Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.The complete function was compered by the SAKATH’s veteran MC, Nanu Marol Thottam keeping the audience amused with his humors.
