Dubai, Nov 24, 2018: The two-day Vishwa Tulu Sammelan got off to a grand and colourful start at the Al Nasr Leisure Land Ice Rink on November 23, Friday in the presence of a host of dignitaries including Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Mangaluru Bishop Rev Dr Peter  Paul Saldanha, Bellary Bishop Henry D’Souza, entrepreneur Dr B R Shetty, Ministers Jayamala,  UT Khader, MLA Umanath Kotian, MP and former CM Veerappa Moily, entrepreneur Ronald Colaco and others.

Speaking as a chief guest, Dr Veerendra Heggade said  that it was indeed an honour that Tuluvas are  serving in various fields in  Dubai which is considered a land of Gold. The fragrance of Tulunad  has spread across the world, he said and urged Tuluvas to  further excel in various fields.

Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan who was also a chief guest said  the strong relations between Indi and UAE as well as the hard working nature of Tuluvas have helped in organising such an event.

Tulunadu legends Koti Chennaya, Agoli Manjanna, Reverend Kittel, Rani Abbakka, Abbaga Daraga and Kayyara Kinhanna Rai were remembered on the occasion.

A variety of programmes are lined up during the Sammelan. The guests were treated to traditional Tulunad delicacies
