UK Konkans hold BGM to elect Office Bearers for 2015-2017

London, April 7, 2015: The members of UK Konkans held the Biennial General Meeting (BGM) on 29th March 2015 to elect Office Bearers for the years 2015-17.

Following Office bearers were elected by unanimous decision.

President                           – Tom D’Souza
Secretary                           – Kevin Madth
Joint Secretary                 – Shanthi Menezes
Cultural Secretary           – Eric D’Souza
Joint Cultural Secretary – Gratian D’Silva
Treasurer                           – Edgar Pinto
Web Administrator          – Melwyn Vaz

Outgoing president Esthela Vaz welcomed the members and applauded the support and cooperation of office bearers during her tenure as President of UK Konkans. She also thanked the members and sponsors for their continued support.


In addition to the above, following members agreed to be committee members – Esthela Vaz, Alice D’Souza, Sheela D’Silva, Beena D’Souza, Mini Madtha, Urban Menezes, Clara Teixeira, Wilma and Arun Cutinha, Margaret and Raphael D’Souza, Charlotte Madtha, Sylvester D’souza, Janet and Thomas D’Souza, Shanthi and Vincent Menezes.

Newly elected president Tom D’Souza thanked the efforts of previous committee and set out plans for future activities of UK Konkans.


The committee agreed to hold their Summer Picnic on 28 June 2015 and Christmas Celebration on 20 December 2015.

Tom also promised to continue maintaining cordial relations with other Mangalorean Associations in the UK. He also requested all Mangaloreans living in and around London to become members of UK Konkans
