UAE, Feb 6, 2014:  Exchange has always believed in emerging into a model corporate citizen. The event took place on the 21st of January, 2014 at the Dubai Chamber premises. Mr. Varghese Mathew, Country Head, UAE Exchange - UAE, received the award from His Excellency Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, Dubai Chamber Board. The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry honoured 13 major organisations for their efforts to lead by example in corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

On the occasion, Mr. Varghese Mathew said, “Receiving the Dubai CSR Label for second time is a great motivation for all of us at UAE Exchange. We have always aimed at making a difference to the society, beyond profits. Utmost care has been taken to touch upon the lives of everyone positively, empowering communities; contributing to economies; serving and replenishing the society at large. This is a very proud moment for all of us and we hope to bring about transformation and celebration into our society furthermore.”

The Dubai Chamber CSR Label has been designed to provide a free diagnostic framework, as well as a learning and development tool that will help companies to define and improve their CSR strategy, policies, and management practices. It is tailor-made for the Middle East, specifically for the UAE, and is based on international standards and best practices. Streamlining CSR initiatives in corporates; reviewing, evaluating and providing feedback of a company’s CSR strategies and actions; creating better communication between companies and stakeholders on CSR commitments, are some of the objectives of this initiative.

Over the years, UAE Exchange has joined hands with many Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to stand up for various humanitarian and environmental causes.  In 2012, the remittance major held a nation-wide campaign ‘Mission Zero Suicide’ to help expatriates to cope up with the economic crisis leading to financial instability. UAE Exchange regularly ties up with UNICEF and UNWFP for various social and environmental causes. As an organisation, UAE Exchange has always been sensitive towards those, who haven’t been fortunate enough and always felt the need to add value to their lives. It is these efforts, which have found recognition.
