Rangabhoomi artistes present ‘Kaalachakra’ in Dubai

Dubai, Sep27, 2013 : Artistes from the renowned Rangabhoomi theatrical group of Udupi presented a Tulu play ‘Kaalachakra’ at the Naswan Hall, Al Nasr Leisureland at Dubai on September 26. The play was hosted by Nama Tuluveru, an organization  that has been striving to promote Tulu culture in the UAE.

 

 

The play which was presented to a packed audience, effectively depicted the problems faced by many elderly citizens who are ill-treated and abandoned by their own children who even   get rid of them by sending them to old age homes.

On this occasion, Nama Tuluveru felicitated  Pradeep Chandra Kuthpady, head of Rangabhoomi theatrical troupe. The sponsors who helped in arranging the programme were also honoured. Even  Satish Venkatramana of Chilli Willi who has been striving to promote Tulu in the UAE was felicitated on behalf of Nama Tuluveru.

Among other dignitaries present on the occasion were Frank Fernandes of Mosaco Shipping, Praveen Shetty of Fortune Group,  Sarvotham Shetty, Harish Sherigar of ACME, Herman Lewis of Radio Spice and  Walter Nandalike.

Jameel Ahmed and Harish Sherigar presented some super hit Tulu, Kannada and Hindi songs to the delight of the audience. The event was anchored by Shodhan Prasad of Nama Tuluveru.
