The parish hall of the Lady of the Visitation in Greenford was filled to capacity despite the bad weather. The evening began with the ‘Clubmen’ live band playing and singing some nostalgic songs until it was time for Father Christmas to make a grand entrance.  He distributed gifts to children up to the age of ten and also the ladies in the hall.  Sheila Pais, the compere for the evening also conducted a few games for children.

The president of SKA Ron Rodrigues, in his speech, thanked the past president Roland Saldanha and secretary Richard Pereira for keeping SKA going even in times of adversity.  He also extended his profound thanks to the Lobo family (Richard and Christine) who keep up the Nativity tradition year after year and bring together a huge Mangalorean audience with the aim of binding the community.

The dinner was a sumptuous one with the flavour of the evening being the pork vindaloo specially prepared by Ron Rodrigues.

There was non-stop dancing from 11 pm until the end of the evening, with a variety of music including Konkani ‘Mando’.

After dinner, the compere conducted the raffle draw and prizes were distributed to the winners. The function ended at midnight with everyone feeling a sense of fulfillment and wanting more events like this.
