Having fired 77,282 fireworks, Kuwait has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest firework show in the world. Guinness World Records representative KUNA Carim Valario confirmed the record and presented the certificate to the concerned authority during the event.

The unique record-setting fireworks show attracted hundreds and thousands of people and lasted for around one hour. It included not only fireworks, but also tableaux, kites, and laser shows.

On Nov 11, 1962, Kuwait became the first Arab state to get a constitution and a parliament. Since the event coincided with Diwali, it gave another reason for Indians in Kuwait to celebrate. The fireworks show began at 8:10 p.m. and lasted for 64 minutes. More than 25 companies and organizations planned the event and over 1000 volunteers served refreshments and provided the required information. The police force, the military, fire fighting bodies, and ambulances were stationed at the venue to deal with emergencies.

According to a decree issued by Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, holiday was declared for schools and universities on Nov 11, Sunday.
