Kuwait Kannada Koota celebrates Rajyotsava

Kuwait, Nov 21, 2013: An annual mega event ’Karnataka Rajyotsava’ was celebrated by Kuwait Kannada Koota at Cambridge School, Fahaheel. Renowned poet, story writer, columnist, TV presenter and lyricist of Kannada films, Jayant Kaikini participated as the chief guest and inaugurated the event.
Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the Koota for their efforts in preserving and propagating the values of Kannada language.
The Cultural committee of the Koota presented the entertainment program with the theme ‘Namma Aacharane, Namma Samskruthi’ based on festivals celebrated in Karnataka.
More than 160 members of koota participated in the programme and highlighted twelve festivals live on stage. The festivals were depicted in the form of dance, skits and commentary.
Budding talent Poorvi K Rao enthralled the audience with her dance numbers.
The koota also honoured Jayant Kaikini with shawl, peta, garland and memento. Dinesh R, president of the Koota delivered the welcome address, while Secretary Ramesh P proposed vote of thanks.
