KGA organizes Seven-a-side Football Tournament

Kuwait, Nov 9, 2012 : The Kuwait Goan Association (KGA) organized the 4th Eslinda Alemao Memorial Seven-a-side Football Tournament on MOH Grounds Shuwaikh during the Eid festival. The UAE Exchange sponsored this event, which had around 20 teams taking part.

 

The chief guest of the occasion was Carl Otto Klermund, CEO of Siemens, and the guests of honor were Ajay Sinha, AI country manager, and Fidelis Fernandes, president of KIFF. Among those present were several football enthusiasts, participating teams, their friends and family members, and committee members of KIFF.

The other sponsors of the event were Air India, UAE Exchange, Gulf Cable and Electrical Industries Co., Mughal Mahal Restaurants, Al-Otham and Al-Bisher Co, Eureka, Lulu Hypermarkets, Bhasin Co., Fitwell Tailor, Lays, Lipton Tea, Dana Optics, Almaria, Indian Delights Restaurant, and Al Sallah Intl. Co.

Penny Rebello and Merwyn Pereira entertained the spectators.

The semifinalists were Curtorcares, Kerala Challengers, KGA, and Don Bosco Oratory. The winner turned out to be Don Bosco Oratory and the runner up was KGA. Besides, Michael Dias won the First Goal Scorer of the Finals and Man of the Match Award and Vicky Waghmare won the Best Striker Award.

The chief guest of the event presented the trophies to the winners.

John Mora won the Best Defender Award, Martin Gomes won the Best Midfielder Award, and Curtocares United won the Best Disciplined Team Trophy.
