Dubai : Tulu Parba unravels glory of Tulunad

Dubai, June 22, 2013: The glory of Tulunad and its rich culture and traditions were unraveled at the Tulu Parba 2013 organised by Dubai Tulu Koota here on June 21 to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of Dubai Tulu Koota. The programmes held under the leadership of CR Shetty, Chief Convenor of UAE Tulu Koota  presented a whole new world before the audience.

 

 

The event featured a variety of programmes including dance, drama, mock cock fighting, skit, the famous tiger dance of Kudla, Yakshagana among other programmes.

The cultural programmes were held under the leadership of Harish Sheregar, entrepreneur  and noted singer. A colourful procession added glitter to the function.

Several dignitaries present on the occasion including MP Singh of the Labour Department in Indian Embassy, Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, Umanath Kotian, former president of Tulu  Sahitya Academy, noted theatrical personality Devadas Kapikad and orator Dr Putturaya inaugurated the event.

The dignitaries were also felicitated on the occasion on behalf of the organisers.

Rajkumar, President of Bahrain Kannada Sangha, Ashok Purohit, Vaastu expert, Shekhar Shetty, of Arab Udupi Hotels, Sarvottam Shetty, President of Abudhabi Karnaka Sangha, Satish Poojari, President of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha, Praveen Shetty, owner of Fortune Group o Hotel and others were present .

A variety of stalls  that were set up as part of the event resembled a mini Mangalore in Dubai.
