Dubai, Feb 6, 2013: The much awaited Konkan Sports Meet  will kick start on February 8 at the premises of Higher Colleges of Technology - Men’s College near Silicone Oasis, Dubai.

"Konkan Sports Meet 2013’ is the first event to be held as part of the year long celebrations. The event is open to all Konkani speaking people of all ages. Participants can take part in field and track events, relays, tug of war and many other fun filled games.

The meet organised as part of silver jubilee celebrations, is aimed at providing an ideal opportunity for a family outing with an objective of promoting excellence, friendship and mutual respect’ through competitive sports.

Over 500 enthusiasts are expected to take part and the organisers have said the response has been overwhelming.  Free transport has been arranged for those who are willing to commute to the venue.

Buses will leave from the Parking lot opposite to Lulu Super Market Karama around 8.30 am. Millennium Insurance Brokers Co LLC is the event partner, while Daijiworld.com is the media partner of the event.
