Dubai, October 4: The St. Mary’s Konkani Community (SMKC) will organize the Konkan Showers 2010 on Oct 14, Thursday at Al Nasr Leisure Land.

The tickets have already been put on sale and groups of 10 can start booking their tables right away. A maximum of 1,500 people can be accommodated, so those interested can call Paul Colaco (050 5530944), Bhaskar (050 6781233), Francis Abreo (050 6442079), Noel Mascarenhas (050 6582342) right away.

The tickets are prized at AED 100 per table seat and AED 60 per gallery seat. Kids below the age of 5 can enter free of charge. A sumptuous dinner forms part of the fun. The co-hostess Vaishali Rods promises to give people a great time.

Performances will be presented by Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozerio and his wife Joyce, Prakash, Alwyn Fernandes, Zeena, and others. Arun Raj Rodrigues will be flown in from Mangalore to compere the programme in Konkani. The programme chart also includes comedy performances from Daiji Rang Mandir team, Ocean Kids, baila songs, and others.

Prizes will be given away to the best-dressed couple, early birds, and so on. Visitors can expect gifts such as international airline tickets, electronic goods, watches, gift hampers, hotel vouchers, perfumes, and others. The event will be conducted in Konkani as well as English.
