Dubai; Jan 18, 2014: ‘Gammath Kalavider’, UAE, an popular amateur drama troupe has here once again entertained the Tulu art lovers by staging a Tulu comedy and social drama ‘Porlu-Thuper’ directed by Vishwanath Shetty on Jan 17,Friday in Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School, Dubai at 6.00 pm in the evening to commemorate the third anniversary of Gammath Kalavider,UAE.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Gammath Kalavider has been providing a common platform for drama artists, who came in search of their livelihood to exhibit and contribute their talents in the field of Tulu drama for the last several years. This time, again they proved that they are no more inferior to professional artists.

The drama ‘Porlu Thuper’ has received an overwhelming response from the audience and has become a thumping success. The story, music, dialogue for this drama was rendered by ‘Bale Telipale’ fame Nellu Permannur.

Though respectable person in the society, he was not able to bring their two children’s life in proper path, father’s impatience, two children’s way life with their wives, the life of the servant, who is going to join in the same house, daily drama of drunkard artist in the neighbourhood and in addition to this two old people’s style of life in the neighborhood, with this drama concludes.

All the artists justified their respective roles in their acting, dialogues and expressions etc.

In between the drama, equally renowned singer Harish Sherigar and Akshata Rao entertained the audience with their old Kannada numbers.

Prior to drama,Ligory D’Mello entrepreneur has inaugurated the programme.During the occasion Chief guests like entrepreneur Harish Bangera,his wife Smt.Lata Bangera,Arab Udupi hotel owner Shekar.B.Shetty,Harish Sherigar,MD ACME building materials trading,Dubai,Sudheer Kumar, COO of U.A.E Exchange,Pravin Shetty,owner of Fortune Groups of hotels,Bhagya Premanath Shetty,entrepreneur Vinu Vishwanath,Vishwanath Shetty,director of the drama were present.

Gammath Kalavider Sanghatane’s representative, artist Rajesh Kuttar and his wife Beena, Nellu Permannur, who wrote story, dialogue, music to the drama and Mathalaxmi Shantidhama, an old age home’s Harish Pergade Kanthadiguttu have been felicitated and congratulated on the occasion.

Rs 4 laccheque from the income received from the drama has been handed over to Harish Pergade of Mangalore Mathalakshmi Shantidhama, an old age home by the Gammatha Kalavider team and along with that Rs one lac cheque was given to Mangalore’s Lakumi Tanda’s artist Dharmendra Amin.At the same time Salas Marine’s Devish Alva Rs 2 lac and Darvad SDM college’s old students Rs one lac and from Namma Tuluver Sanghatane Rs 25 thousand cheque was given to Harish Pergade.

Vasu Shetty, President of Gammatha Kalavider Sanghatane welcomed the gathering, Sarvothama shetty, president, Abudhabi Karnataka Sangha has meticulously compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks.
