Doha: Rosary Church Celebrates Parish Feast with Fervour

Doha, 07 October 2011: Our Lady of the Rosary Church celebrated the Parish feast on Friday 07th October 2011 with passion and zeal. The Pontifical Solemn Mass was conducted in the evening at 4.00 pm in the Main Church led by the Chief Celebrant Bishop Camillo Ballin along with Fr. Peter P. M. – Parish Priest, Fr. Anand Castelino – Spiritual Director of Konkani Community and other priests of the parish. The church was lit with festive lightings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Mass was followed by diverse cultural program fiesta presented by various communities. The cultural programs were organized by the parish at the main lobby of Church. Ronnie Vazz compeered the program which began with a introductory note by Fr. Peter. The feast program was symbolically inaugurated by Bishop Camillo releasing two white doves, who then spoke appreciating the enthusiasm of the parishioners.

The cultural programs included songs, dances and skits giving message on the life of Christianity. Konkani Community presented two programmes at the fiesta, Goan Mando and a dance item. It was an opportunity for the young and old talents from different communities to perform before the live audience gathered in huge numbers, who enjoyed the great entertainment.

 

There were game stalls and food stalls organized by various communities and prayer groups. Most of the food was homemade with lots of varieties. Among these stalls was the stall of Konkani Speaking Community of Mangaloreans and Goans, who treated people with mouth watering delicious culinary dishes, variety food items like sannas, appams, meat dishes, biryani, snack items, sandwiches, cutlets, croquets, sheera etc

 

With the guidance and encouragement of Parish Priest Fr. Peter, Fr. Anand and all the other Priests, the various community committee members, community leaders and volunteers put up great efforts in making this Parish feast a successful and memorable one. The whole atmosphere was entertaining and everyone had a fun filled day. It was a beautiful evening of  "Vodlem Fest".
