Doha, 17 Oct 2012: The finals of Konkani’s biggest reality show Gulf Voice of Mangalore-3 will be held at the majestic Giwana Hall in Radisson Blu Hotel here on Friday October 19 evening, said Veena Pais nee Rebimbus, the chief coordinator of Gulf Voice of Mangalore-3.

Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), the premier forum of the Mangaloreans working and residing in Qatar is the host for the third edition of Gulf Voice of Mangalore. A total of 12 singers of Mangalorean origin, six male and 6 female, from GCC (Qatar, UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait & Oman) will be fighting for the coveted crown of Gulf Voice of Mangalore-3. Remy D’Souza and Preema Pinto will be representing Qatar in the male and female category respectively.


Gulf Voice of Mangalore, the brain child of Louis Rodrigues and Lawrence Pinto, Kuwait was first introduced in the year 2008 wherein singers from five GCC countries except KSA participated. Vinay Lewis was crowned the first Gulf Voice of Mangalore during the finals held at Kuwait while Mangalore Konkans, UAE hosted the second edition in Dubai in 2010 which was won by Ivan Fernandes & Gladys Lorena. MCA, Qatar is the host for the third Gulf Voice of Mangalore which promises to be one of the most popular contests across the Konkani horizon in the GCC countries.

The jury consists of experienced veteran Konkani musicians who will be flown in especially from Mangalore and Mumbai. ‘Konkan Myna’ Meena Rebimbus, Sangeet Guru Joel Pereira, Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza and Fr Denis D’Sa will form the august jury panel.

The Gulf Voice of Mangalore is the Konkani talent hunt show of the Middle East. Since 2008 this stage has seen a lot of new and upcoming Mangalorean talents.  MCA is honored to host this prestigious event this season and has done a lot of homework to make this event an ever memorable one.

The judgment will be based on the day’s performance of the singer and purely their singing. We have selected the best of the best Judges who have been associated with Konkani Music and singing since many years and dedicated their life for this. Their experience is this field is tremendous and surely the best singer and performer of the day will grab the title. We wish all the finalists every best and extend our full support and cooperation towards their participation in the Grand Finale.
