Doha: ICBF’s charity Cricket festival begins

Doha, December 25, 2010: ICBF - VOLTAS Cricket Festival was inaugurated at Old Ideal Indian School Floodlit ground on December 23. The cricket festival is being organised by Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), an unique charitable organization under the aegis of Embassy.

The organizer said that the main aim of conducting festival is for raising fund for its noble ventures in assisting needy and distressed. Till now ICBF has provided such noble services and various types of financial assistances to more than 30,000.

Voltas, Gulf Incon ( Metabo) , Doha Bank, Commercial Bank of Qatar , Mannai Air Travels, M Pallonji - Qatar , Al Muftah Contracting and Hanan are the teams which will vie in the cricket tournament.

The inauguration of the Cricket Festival was held on Thursday 23 December at 6.30 PM at Old Ideal Indian School ground followed by first knock out match between Voltas and Mannai Air Travel . Subsequent knock out matches are being held on 24th, 25th and 26th December with first and second Semifinals on 27 th & 28 th December. The Final match of the tournament along with Prize Distribution ceremony will be held on Thursday 30 December.
