Billawas Dubai to distribute scholarships worth Rs. 7.63 lakh

Dubai, August 21: Billawas Dubai announced at a press conference that they will distribute scholarships to talented Billawa students at an annual scholarship distribution programme held at Adhyaksha Koragappa Memorial Hall at Kudroli in Mangalore on Aug 22, Sunday. The association will distribute a total of Rs. 7,63,000 to financially backward and talented students as well as to poor patients in need of medical help.

President of Billawas Dubai Mr. Mohan Attavar told reporters that the association plans to distribute scholarships to many more students in future from the Billawas Dubai Fund. He informed that 232 students, including 34 engineering students, 4 medical students, 1 BHMS student, 1 IAS student, 8 PG students, 106 degree students, 56 PU students, 1 blind student, and 19 SSLC students, will receive scholarships this year. Simultaneously, cheques will be distributed to 8 poor patients so that they can get medical help.


He also said that Billawas Dubai plans to felicitate 4 students for their academic achievements with certificates and cash awards this year. The association also plans to establish a fund worth Rs. 40 – 50 lakh for scholarships, and 50 percent of this fund will be generated by Billawas Dubai.


Mr. Praveen Kumar Attavar, the vice president of Billawas Dubai; Mr. Jitendra Suvarna, the chief of the Billawas Advisory Committee; Mr. Vasanth Thumbe, the chief of PR of Billawas Dubai; and Mr. Sujay Bendur, the media coordinator of the Billawas, were also present during the press conference.
