Billawar Balaga Abu Dhabhi to distribute scholarships on Aug 16

Abu Dhabi, Jul 16: The Billawara Balaga Abu Dhabi, among the oldest Billawa organizations in the Gulf, will distribute scholarships among needy Billawa children in Madikeri and DK as part of its 17th anniversary celebrations.

The Billawara Balaga celebrated its 17th anniversary on April 1 this year with a colourful cultural programme, including a Yakshagana performance. It also felicitated Balipa Narayana Bhagavatha and Balakrishna Kadri, the drama artiste, on the occasion.

The Balaga will present Devadas Kapikad’s new drama “Kala Kambula” during the scholarship distribution programme, which is scheduled to be held at Mangalore Town Hall on Aug 16 at 5:00 p.m.

Twenty-five talented school and college students will receive scholarships worth Rs. 1,25,000.

The guests of honour will be Karnataka Sangha Bahrain President Raj Kumar and Chilly Willy Dubai Managing Director Satish Venkatramana.

Billawara Balaga Convenor Manohar Tonse and the members of its working committee have urged everybody from the Billawa community to attend this programme. Free transport will be provided to all Billawas from Udupi.
